The international coaching saga is showing no signs of slowing down.

With Wales, Australia and the All Blacks all set to appoint new coaches following their early Rugby World Cup exits, the rumour mill is now into full swing.

Coaching saga continues After ARU boss John O’Neill talked up the chances of David Nucifora claiming the Wallabies job only last week, he has now met with Robbie Deans, along with ARU high performance manager Pat Howard, in Paris, to discuss the job availability.

Deans is also a strong candidate for the All Blacks job and has also been linked to Wales as the replacement for sacked coach Gareth Jenkins. Given the fact that Deans is no certainty to become the new All Blacks coach, it puts the Crusaders mentor in a tricky situation of having to second guess the New Zealand Rugby Union.

O’Neill did not disclose any details of his chat with Deans but told the Daily Telegraph, “I can say that Pat and I had a very pleasant chat over coffee with Robbie. It was a further opportunity to get to know each other and we spoke about a range of subjects. There were no specifics around coaching positions.
