Ronan OGara has spoken about the anguish he felt after Irelands Rugby World Cup disaster in France.
The first five was speaking after his club Munster had claimed a 19-16
Magners League win over Edinburgh on Saturday night.
OGara kicked 14 points and afterwards told Setanta Ireland that returning to play competitive rugby for the first time went a long way towards erasing some of the torment caused by Irelands early RWC exit.
Ah I think it was just nice to play rugby again its been an extremely tough few months I suppose, and no one more disappointed than myself, OGara admitted.
It was a hugely disappointing World Cup. When you under perform you put your hand up, and to perform like we did you have to put both hands up. That hurts, and Im still hurt, and I dont know if Ill ever get over it but play on the pitch eases it and its a little bit easier.
But I think the last six weeks have been terrible and I dont know, Im kinda lost for words, it hurts because it meant so much to me.
The 30-year-old said the win with Munster came as a relief following the poor results in France.
Yeah it is obviously. Its a different standard and different competition, and I suppose the one thing Id say about the World Cup is that the line between success and failure is very thin, out here, its an average game. So its disappointing, and Im trying to get over it but its not easy.
