Leicester Tigers coach Marcelo Loffreda has admitted he is eager to sign Argentina and Stade Français star Juan Martín Hernàndez.
The first-five, nicknamed 'El Mago' (The Magician), was one the players
of the 2007 Rugby World Cup as he helped guide the Pumas to an impressive
third place finish.
He is currently in the second year of a three-year deal at Stade Français, but has become frustrated that the French club continues to play him at fullback instead of his preferred position in the No 10 jersey.
However, the 25-year-olds club is putting up a fight to keep Hernandez and the president, Max Guazzani, is understood to be playing hardball with the English champions.
But Loffreda has revealed that talks between the clubs are ongoing.
"They are still in negotiations and they are coming and going," the former Pumas coach told the Leicester Mercury.
"I really don't know (if he is coming) and I will always say the truth, but my aim is to have him here as soon as I can.
