Scotland head coach Frank Hadden will be urged to sign a new contract once he returns from a post-Rugby World Cup holiday.
The 53-year-old's current contract ended after the tournament, where Scotland
reached the quarter-finals but lost to a strong Pumas outfit.
"We want Frank to stay as national coach, Scottish Rugby Union chief executive Gordon McKie told the Daily Mail.
"And I will be telling him that myself personally soon."
Following the match on October 7 which saw Scotland bow out to Argentina in their 7 October in Paris, Hadden said that he would take time out to consider his future.
"I know that Frank has done a great job and players have stated publicly that he should be given a new contract," added McKie.
"We feel the same and will now sit down and say, 'Right Frank, here's a pen, let's get this done'.
