The NZRU is deliberating the future of the All Black coaches today after the three men put forward their case in Wellington yesterday.
The New Zealand Herald has reported the coaches blamed English referee
Wayne Barnes for their Rugby World Cup quarterfinal loss to France.
The newspaper said it understood head coach Graham Henry and his two assistants
produced video footage highlighting Barnes' errors in the match. The evidence
highlighted 17 second half errors by Barnes and his touch judges, the Herald
said.
Barnes also sin binned Luke McAlister in the first half which led to the first French try, before failing to rule on an obvious forward pass in the build-up to their second five-pointer.
The New Zealand Rugby Union committee of Mike Eagle, Ivan Haines, Jock Hobbs, Graham Mourie and Paul Quinn will present their findings to the full NZRU board tomorrow.
The outcome of that meeting should decide the coaches' fate. The board could choose to extend their contracts or open up the positions to other applicants.
Henry, Wayne Smith, Steve Hansen, selector Sir Brian Lochore and team manager Darren Shand were all allowed time to speak to the committee.
The NZRU hope to have the All Blacks coach appointed by Christmas.
